This weekend Stewart Hodges plays his 100th open-age game for the Demons.
Season 2022 is Stewie’s 12th season of footy with the Pennant Hills senior club. This year he turned 27.
Stewie came to the senior club from the Westbrook Bulldogs Juniors. He played 105 games for the Bulldogs and kicked 73 goals. In 2011, while still playing juniors, he also played in the Under 18 competition for the Demons. He played 4 seasons in the Under18s/U19s, amassing a total of 50 games for the colts. He was a member of the 2013 Under 19 premiership team, the last time Penno has won this flag.
Starting out as a small forward, Stewie found his best position was in defence and has played most of his senior footy off the halfback line. He played mainly in the Reserves in the first part of his career and in more recent times he’s switched to the thirds and was a member of the Division One Premiership team in 2018.
In 2013, he got a taste of first grade footy (2 games only … just a small taste!) and his Premier Division debut was in round 11 in 2013, a 5 pts victory over Campbelltown. Stewie played in jumper #28 and kicked a goal.
So, Stewart is a two-time premiership player and in 2014 he was rated the Best Team Man for the Under 19s.
Stewie is a respected member of the footy club and always puts the team first. He is a likable bloke and is known for his love of music!
We wish Stewart all the best in his 100th game.
Go Penno!
