Pennant Hills announces Drew Maddock as U/19s coach for 2019

December 5, 2018

The club is excited to welcome a new U/19s Coach for the 2019 Season in Drew Maddock. Drew hails from WA and has an impressive Footballing pedigree however has decided to hang up the boots for good, taking on a full-time coaching position with the club. He was the Runner for the 2018 Premiership winning Division 1 Side and is excited to come into the club in a more formal capacity. See below for a comment from Drew.

My name is Drew Maddock and I will be taking over from Trent Roddan as the U19’s coach for 2019 season. I wanted to extend a warm welcome to those returning U19’s and those of you who are looking to play for Pennant Hills for the first time. I recommend that you try and get down to pre-season as early as possible to meet everyone including myself, I promise you won’t be the only new face.

To all graduating U17’s and current eligible U17’s looking to get some extra fitness in before their own pre-season starts you are more than welcome to come and join in with our first pre-season run this Thursday 15th of November (also every Thursday following through to 20/12). There are no obligations involved by joining in these sessions but are a good opportunity to get some extra training in early.

To provide you all with a brief background on myself I grew up in Western Australia where I played my school football in the Private school system in Perth, I was then selected in through the associated WAFL system development squads and finally into the WAFL colt’s system. I then returned to my associated A grade club as a an under U19 but played in the premier division before being injured. Unfortunately, it was a long-term injury, so this led into the beginning of my coaching career. I coached the U19’s for two years which became a passion of mine and was fortunate enough to lead a push into the preliminary finals and then Grand Final respectively. To all players and parents out there who obviously won’t know too much about me I would like to assure you that I will bring a dedicated passion to the club and the team with an emphasis on development and team culture. I would encourage you to get in touch with me via the details below if you have further questions, but I have also detailed a brief playing history for you as well.
