Our men’s teams have had a good start to the year and currently four of our five teams hold finals positions. Both our Third’s and Fifth’s are leading their respective competitions which is a fantastic effort!
Our inaugural Women’s team has been very impressive, snaring two victories from their six matches, a great achievement considering many of them had not kicked a footy much before this year.
This Saturday is going to be a huge day for the club at Home! It’s the Pennant Hills annual Ladies Day, which means champagne, prizes and giveaways. Gil Angel has done a great job organising a number of great events starting from 10:30 AM and concluding in the evening. There will be coffee vans, gift bags and plenty more, so make sure that all of you lovely ladies bring your friends along for what will most definitely be a cracking day!
If that isn’t enough to get you there on Saturday, I know what will! Pete Barnes plays his 150th game for the club, which is a very big deal! A story by John Acheson will be out on team app and the website tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled.
Other upcoming events include Back to the Ern day, which is our annual past players day. This will be taking place on the 30th of July at our old stomping ground, Ern Holmes Reserve. It’s the 10 year reunion of our 2006 flag, so it should be quite a party!
And for all you young party go-ers, our annual Penno player’s social (this year’s ski party), will be taking place on the 9th of July, so save the date.
Lastly, on a sales side of the club. We rely greatly on the generosity of our supporters, they help fund the number of players we have competing each week.
We are asking that our supporters help the club in either (or both) of these ways:
Firstly, a fresh stock of our new ISC off-field gear has arrived. Going into the winter months, jackets and hoodies are a must! This gear is warm, but also proceeds go back into the club, so please we implore you to check it out!
Secondly, we are pushing for a big membership drive! The season may be one third of the way through but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to become a member. Memberships are $100 and include: Free drinks at TWO blockbuster games, Penno bumper sticker, $25 merchandise voucher and free entry to TWO club functions.
The footy club relies heavily on memberships. So please, get generous and help out the Demons in 2016!
Thats all for now,
See you all down there on Saturday!
Go Dees!
