Trent Roddan Appointed as U19’s Coach for 2016

December 2, 2015

The end of the 2015 season saw David Pinker step down from his role as the Under 19’s Division One coach after a number of hugely successful seasons. Pink’s Under 19’s coaching career included a premiership in 2013 and a minor premiership in 2015, amongst a plethora of other coaching accolades.

Pinks’ presence will be sorely missed, but his departure makes way for new energy and passion, which is manifest in the appointment of the new Under 19’s coach Trent Roddan. Trent will assume the role immediately in preparation for season 2016. Trent held a significant position in the Pinker coaching staff, playing a major role in the 2013 premiership season, and has been furthering his coaching development in the role of assistant coach, under Dave, in the last few years. Trent has also had a long-standing involvement with the Talented Player Project system in Sydney, with experience coaching in the Giants Academy system. Trent is known for his passion for not only the game, but also for self growth and has built a reputation for relishing hard-work, as displayed by his many off-field projects which have furthered the club’s position in recent years.

When asked what most excites him about taking up the new challenge Trent answered:

“What excites me most about taking on the role is the chance to further develop the existing U19 players from both div1 and div2, but also integrating the talented new players coming into the squad from the various junior clubs. Pennant Hills has established an enviable reputation over the years for providing high level player development and with the support of current senior coach Chris Yard and form Premier Division coach Michael Cousens, I plan to ensure 2016 is no different.”

With pre-season training starting on Thursday, Trent will be looking to develop a good atmosphere amongst the Under 19 boys as early as possible.

Good luck Trent, and good luck to the Under 19’s for season 2016.
