Congratulations to Dan Witt on playing his 100th Game in last Saturday’s final against St George in Premier Division. Dan played his junior football at Westbrook, winning a number of premierships and making numerous representative teams throughout his junior career.Dan also played in the Sydney Redbacks team which was an under 16 representative team, playing in the under 18 competition. Dan joined the Demons in 2007, playing 2 seasons in the under 18 competition where he distinguished himself as a courageous and team oriented defender. In the 2008 under 18 Grand Final, in an act of courage that defied belief Dan surged backwards to spoil a forward thrust and collided, breaking his jaw and finishing his day in an ambulance. In 2009, fully recovered from his injuries Dan made his Premier Division debut and has been a mainstay of the defence ever since. Dan is not only renowned as a great mark, but along with his brother Pat, the most ferocious tacklers in the club. Over the seasons Dan has made great contributions to the on field team performances and has as recently as last week taken big marks and kicked clutch goals to get us over the line, but no one can ignore his contribution off the field as the “Karoake King” a supreme entertainer. Congratulations to Dan on 100 games, a great team mate and a great club man!
